This is the time of year when companies start to open up their new budget for training dollars. But how are you going about your training plan this year? It’s pretty easy to look at workshops or courses as they come around and send one of your people because maybe you have available budget dollars and they “might learn something from it.” But taking on a more proactive, well-rounded approach to training and professional development is crucial to getting the best ROI from investing in training your people. 

For our February Member Spotlight, we spoke with Ryan Kiscaden, Executive Director of Thermostat Recycling Corporation based in Greater Philadelphia. In this Q&A interview, we spoke with Ryan about his unique HVACR industry career with roots in wholesale distribution, and the lessons he learned there applying to his work today.

We’re nearly halfway to our commitment of donating the HVAC equipment and ductwork to 100 Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) builds. HFOT is the national nonprofit organization that builds and gifts specially adapted homes to post-9/11 injured veterans. As of this month, 46 HFOT builds have been connected to HARDI member donors since we made this commitment two years ago.
